The Winter to Spring Limbo

In Indiana on February 21, 2010 at 6:05 pm

The semester is almost two months in and different to last semester I am no longer a stranger in the university, I am greeted in the halls and the elevators. Now, when I enter a classroom my peers receive me with a smile. I am taking two classes with wonderful professors and although there is a lot of work, I don’t feel overwhelmed and I enjoy most of the readings. Weather-wise we have had three consecutive weeks with snow storms and today is not the exception. The only difference is that today the temperature is in the upper 30’s which means we are actually seeing rain for the first time in months. I don’t know how happy I’m gonna be with the rain situation when I have to wait for the buses but it is a change. If you ask me I cant wait for Spring. Maybe its because it is my first Winter but it has seemed a bit long, I cant remember the last time I saw my legs and toes being outside. Don’t get me wrong, Winter can be an entirely different reason for some fashion but my body is asking for warmth and sunlight. I am not lying when I tell you that I feel my body lacks the energy that only the Sun can provide. Plus, heat and being able to show your skin is a good motivation to hitting the gym, maybe this will give me the push I need. Anyway, there’s not a lot of time today to provide a long narrative but I thought I’ll give it a shot.
